Description du poste

The WaveTech Difference

WaveTech Innovations is an engineering and field services company specializing in direct-view LED (dvLED) and professional audiovisual (AV) systems. We partner with leading manufacturers, AV integrators, and enterprise clients to deliver engineering-led deployment, commissioning, technical support, preventive maintenance, and service solutions across North America.

Our team supports projects from initial system design and site survey through installation, commissioning, and final customer handoff. We combine technical expertise with manufacturer best practices to ensure every system meets high standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

As we continue expanding our engineering capabilities, we're strengthening our operations in Mexico through WaveTech LATAM, building a technical team capable of supporting our U.S. operations while laying the foundation for future growth throughout Latin America.

The Mission

We're looking for an AV Field & Solutions Engineer based in Tijuana, Mexico, who can bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world field execution.

This position combines remote AV engineering, system design, technical consultations, guided installations, and commissioning support. You'll work closely with our U.S. engineering and field teams, helping translate technical requirements into practical solutions while providing the expertise needed to deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain professional AV and dvLED systems.

Unlike a traditional design-only engineering position, this role offers direct involvement in the deployment and operation of the systems you help engineer.

Over time, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of WaveTech's technical services and customer relationships throughout Latin America.

What You'll Learn & Contribute

As an AV Field & Solutions Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, field technicians, manufacturers, and AV integrators, supporting projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial engineering to final commissioning and customer handoff.

Guided Installations & Technical Consultation
  • Provide remote and onsite technical guidance to installation crews, integrators, and customers during AV and dvLED deployments.
  • Support guided installations, including system startup, configuration, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and customer training.
  • Assist field teams in interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturer procedures, and technical installation requirements.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LED processors, video controllers, signal distribution systems, and professional AV equipment.
  • Provide technical consultations and troubleshooting support for existing AV and dvLED installations.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support project completion.
AV Engineering & System Design
  • Develop engineering drawings, signal-flow diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, wiring legends, and system schematics.
  • Prepare equipment selections, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation for AV and LED solutions.
  • Support system design, technical proposals, feasibility assessments, and equipment integration planning.
  • Review architectural drawings, infrastructure requirements, electrical provisions, and network connectivity.
  • Prepare technical handoff packages, installation documentation, and commissioning procedures for field teams.
  • Maintain engineering drawings, as-built documentation, and technical records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, CAD templates, technical libraries, and internal documentation.
Field Engineering & Commissioning
  • Participate in selected onsite deployments, commissioning assignments, technical service visits, and site surveys.
  • Support the installation, configuration, calibration, and testing of professional AV and dvLED systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, power, and signal distribution issues.
  • Perform system health checks, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and corrective service.
  • Complete commissioning reports, service documentation, punch lists, and project closeout records.
  • Coordinate professionally with customers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures, customer safety requirements, and WaveTech quality standards.
Technical Development & LATAM Growth
  • Participate in manufacturer training and professional certifications to expand expertise across AV and LED technologies.
  • Support the development of internal technical procedures, training materials, and engineering resources.
  • Collaborate with WaveTech's U.S. operations to improve technical support and field execution processes.
  • As regional operations expand, contribute to technical consultations, project engineering, and customer support throughout Mexico and Latin America.

We're looking for a motivated engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working with advanced technology, and seeing engineering solutions come to life in the field.

The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering foundation with practical problem-solving abilities, professional communication skills, and a willingness to develop expertise across multiple AV and LED technologies.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, electrical diagrams, system schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of electronics, signal distribution, networking fundamentals, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to prepare professional engineering documentation, technical reports, and commissioning records.
  • Confidence communicating directly with customers, manufacturers, and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with internationally distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally based on project requirements.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, customer service, and continuous technical development.
Preferred, but not required:
  • Previous experience with professional AV systems, dvLED displays, or commercial audiovisual integration.
  • Experience with LED processors, video controllers, display calibration, and manufacturer commissioning software.
  • Knowledge of audio DSPs, Dante, AV-over-IP, control systems, or networked audiovisual technologies.
  • Experience developing Bills of Materials, rack elevations, cable schedules, and engineering documentation.

  • Develop expertise across multiple manufacturers, technologies, and AV system architectures.
  • Access professional development opportunities, manufacturer training, and technical certifications.
  • Build experience supporting international projects and customer relationships.
  • Be part of the early development of WaveTech LATAM, with opportunities to take on greater technical and regional responsibilities as the company grows.
Compensation

This position also includes:

  • Full-time employment through WaveTech LATAM, with applicable Mexican statutory benefits.
  • Company-paid travel, airfare, lodging, ground transportation, and approved business expenses.
  • Travel per diem or allowances for approved field assignments, according to company policy.
