International SOS Government Medical Services seeks a licensed physician for an international assignment on Diego Garcia. You will deliver primary, occupational, and urgent medical care in a remote island healthcare setting, with support from nurses and clinicians, while adhering to established medical authority requirements.

The role includes medical screenings, fitness-for-duty evaluations, preventive services, and coordination of laboratory testing and medical evacuations when needed.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD/DO/MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of suitable postgraduate medical training and any required specialty credentialing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to relocate to Diego Garcia for the duration of the assignment.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English for effective communication.
• Ability to work seated or standing for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret diagnostics, and arrange follow-up.
• Conduct initial, periodic, and annual medical exams and fitness-for-duty assessments.
• Support preventive care, immunizations, and medical readiness evaluations.
• Triage and stabilize emergencies; coordinate consultations, referrals, or medical evacuation.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and coordination of care plans with the medical team.
