Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to support an on-island clinic on Diego Garcia. You will conduct exams, track clearances, and provide routine nursing care within authorized scope to ensure medical readiness for personnel.

You will participate in infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and medical surveillance for spill-response workers, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to maintain continuum of care in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Current, valid nursing license or registration in the candidate's country.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Occupational Health.
• Bachelor's or equivalent nursing degree; BLS certification.
• Ability to relocate to Diego Garcia for the assignment duration.
• English reading/writing/speaking required for communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate occupational and medical-readiness examinations and fitness-for-duty screenings.
• Complete transition screening documentation within 30 days; support health evaluations.
• Perform nursing assessments, triage, routine and urgent care, preventive services.
• Support ECGs for personnel aged 35+, and specialized health assessments for food-service and spill-response workers.
• Document encounters in the electronic health record and coordinate handoffs and referrals.
• Support emergency response, on-call duties, equipment checks, and infection-control practices.
