Performs visual and dimensional inspection of raw materials received at Intuitive Mexicali Plant, following applicable department procedures for Incoming Quality Control. Ensures raw materials meet specifications required by products and manufacturing processes for instruments and accessories. Documents inspection results to maintain traceability at the finished goods level.
- Follows GMPs and wears safety equipment during tasks.
- Participates in safety commissions and safety training as required.
- Uses correct tooling and equipment according to work instructions or inspection lot requirements; reports any worn or damaged tooling or equipment.
- Escalates safety issues to supervisor or manager.
- Follows 5S methodology in respective areas.
- Reports any faulty or damaged safety devices on equipment.
- Performs inspections using basic to moderate datums, including complex fixture setups; completes inspection reports.
- Uses computer-based software to assist inspection activities and record results.
- Documents and executes TINS activities for VR notifications as required.
- Prepares problem description presentations and uploads them to VR for engineering analysis.
- Creates VR Quality Notifications detailing problems and inspection results when needed.
- Understands GD&T concepts and reviews supplier documentation to verify it meets part drawings and specifications.
- Conducts raw material inspections timely, following procedures, and moves inspected materials to designated locations based on lot disposition.
- Records inspection decisions in SAP for each lot inspected.
- Updates log files with daily activities.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects, kaizen events, or similar initiatives.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or technical studies (not engineering).
- English: 50% (reading and comprehension).
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Basic SAP and Agile knowledge.
- At least 1 year of experience in quality areas.
- At least 2 years of experience as a quality inspector or related role.
- 2 years of experience using basic measurement tools/equipment.
- Basic interpretation of mechanical drawings.
- GD&T knowledge: desirable.
