Job summary

Industrias SL, S.A. de C.V. in Mexicali, MX seeks a senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the Process Engineering team, drive SPC and PPAP practices, and partner with design for robust product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Manufacturing or Electronics/Electromechanical Engineering with 10+ years in electronics manufacturing.
• Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Experience with PPAP in electronics manufacturing.
• Automation of complete assemblies and readiness for SMTA/PCBA environments.
• DFM focus in automation and process control.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Ensuring that Advanced Energy operates a safe work environment and specifies safe manufacturing practices.
• Responsible for planning, organizing and leading activities of Manufacturing Engineers functions.
• Define, design, develop and Implement SPC tools for assembly tools, manufacturing and key processes
• Primary emphasis is continuous quality improvement on current products through process and product optimization via a robust process control management
• Actively collaborate in concurrent engineering activities with design engineers to ensure that all new products are introduced with process control plans that achieve the quality goals as stated in the product introduction plan at the time of release.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety: Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and continuously improve safety procedures. Develop and maintain safety KPIs and best practices for NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing processes.

Quality: Drive manufacturing quality by establishing and maintaining process controls, ensuring adherence to procedures and standards, supporting NPI development, implementing Lean Manufacturing initiatives, performing root cause analysis (8D), and collaborating cross-functionally to improve processes using tools such as PPAP and SPC.

Delivery: Lead the Process Engineering team to support production schedules and ensure timely completion of internal and external customer requests.

Cost: Support operational efficiency and productivity goals, implement cost reduction initiatives, reduce scrap and rework, and improve labor performance through manufacturing improvement programs.

Working Conditions: Position based at the Advanced Energy manufacturing facility in Mexicali, involving work in manufacturing and office environments with physical activity requirements depending on operational needs.

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Experience in Electronic Industry and/or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus
• Electronic Manufacturing and Components Fabrication.
• Automation of complete assemblies (beyond just PCBA, SMTA)
• Metal fabrication involving moderate precision with aluminum, copper, steel.
• Coating and encapsulation / potting automation.
• DFM with focus in automation.
• Product experience with digitally controlled devices.

EDUCATION:

Essential:

• Bachelor Degree (Manufacturing, Electronic/Electromechanical Engineering) and 10+ years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is required.

Desirable:

• 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
