Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical or Electrical).
• 5+ years in engineering roles (development, transfer, manufacturing).
• Experience leading engineering teams and projects.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as Teamcenter or Solid Edge.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work off-shift hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams.
• Manage multi-component and multi-sub-system projects to meet performance and cost targets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Drive DFMA, ergonomics, value engineering, and value analysis initiatives.
• Develop control plans to address DFMEA issues and KCCs.
• Conduct root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
• Perform statistical analysis and tolerance stack-ups.
• Support product development using Teamcenter, Solid Edge, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure successful launches.
• Communicate findings and project status to management and teams.
• Contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Job description

The Lead Engineer oversees product design, development, transfer, validation, and improvement activities while providing technical leadership to engineering teams. This role manages projects from concept to implementation, ensuring performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved, while supporting cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and process improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead engineering projects and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams. Improve the financial impact of engineering activities on the business and thorough understanding of how other functions impact the business.
• Responsible for managing projects requiring multiple components and sub-systems integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering team members.
• Drive product and process improvements using Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA), Design for Ergonomics, Value Engineering, and Value Analysis methodologies.
• Develop a control plan to resolve DFMEA issues including the identification of Key Control Characteristics
• Conduct root cause investigations utilizing 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and other problem-solving tools.
• Perform statistical analysis, tolerance stack-ups. Fluent in manufacturing processes and leading improvement initiatives.
• Develop and evaluate engineering solutions using mathematical modeling and numerical analysis techniques.
• Support product development activities utilizing Teamcenter, Solid Edge, or similar engineering systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and product launches.
• Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project status to management and cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Calificaciones

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in product development, product transferences, manufacturing, or related engineering functions.
• Experience leading engineering teams and technical projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Proficiency with Teamcenter, Solid Edge, or comparable engineering software.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Availability to travel up to 10% and work off-shift hours when required.
