Job summary

SIG is seeking a field service engineer to perform inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting at customer sites. You will prepare technical reports and support customers with engineering guidance.

You will collaborate with the Service Account Manager, lead on-site teams when needed, and participate in equipment installations and upgrades while maintaining GMP and ISO-based standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 3 years of industry experience preferred and/or 2 years in similar role.

Job description

Perform inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites.

• Prepare technical reports and documentation regarding customer claims and submit them to the responsible departments.
• Provide technical support to customer personnel regarding equipment and operational issues.
• Support the Service Account Manager by providing technical consulting and guidance to customers.
• Prepare technical service reports.
• Lead on-site personnel when required, depending on the assigned tasks.
• Install filling lines when required, depending on task definition.
• Implement equipment modifications and upgrades as defined by the assigned scope of work.
• Work in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure the production of safe packaging for customers and consumers, and participate in all quality procedures under their responsibility to ensure compliance with SIG standards.
• Environmental Management: Act proactively and sustainably to minimize the impact of liquid, solid, and atmospheric waste generation, following ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements and applicable Mexican environmental regulations.
• Ensure employee safety by adhering to the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, as well as Mexican regulations and procedures, aiming to reduce risks and protect the health and physical integrity of all employees

You bring these skills, experience & education

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 3 years of previous industry experience and/or 2 years in a similar position is preferred.

Skills (e.g., IT, Language)

Good command of English.

• English proficiency is required to report or escalation issues to teams in the United States and Germany.

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
