Open Society Foundations in Mexico City seeks an experienced investment professional to develop investment themes, conduct due diligence, and manage opportunities aligned with impact investing. You will draft memos, support workplans, and help shape the investment portfolio with a focus on private-sector engagement.

The role requires strong financial modeling, risk analysis, and collaboration with Investment Principals, the MD of Investments, and external partners to advance ESG goals and value

Formación

• 5-7 years of experience in private-sector banking or investment, ideally with exposure to Emerging Markets/Global South.
• Proven track record of leading and closing all stages of due diligence for direct equity and debt investments and investments through intermediaries/funds.
• Ability to source and screen investment opportunities against an impact strategy.
• Ability to undertake sophisticated financial modelling, risk and financial analysis, due diligence, valuations, and structuring.
• Experience with asset management.
• Strong dedication to advancing impact through investment and private sector engagement.
• Strong commitment to Open Society’s core values of humility, commitment, collaboration, respect, inclusivity and integrity.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Responsabilidades

• Support the development of investment themes and strategies.
• Lead landscaping and benchmarking exercises to identify and develop new investment opportunities aligned with SEDF’s investment strategies.
• Support investment processes and ensure deals and deal details are catalogued in SEDF’s database and management systems.
• Draft investment recommendations, including screening notes, concept notes, and final investment memos.
• Support Investment Principals and the Managing Director in developing and executing due diligence workplans.
• Develop financial models and perform financial analysis.
• Undertake risk analysis.
• Contribute to impact and ESG analysis.
• Forge strategic partnerships at the portfolio and individual deal levels within Open Society Foundations and externally.
• Work with impact investors, family offices, MDBs/DFIs, and expert consultants.
• Support asset management and oversee creative ways to add value to SEDF investees.
• Refine and improve SEDF’s investment processes and systems, including memos, documentation, reporting, and database management.
• Report to the Managing Director of Investments and work closely with Investment Principals and Strategy/Impact teams.
