MXO Capital in Mexico City is seeking an Investment Analyst or Associate to work directly with the senior investment team across the full lifecycle of transactions. You will build financial models, analyze investment opportunities, and contribute to investment memoranda for Committee review.

The role offers a transparent career path from Analyst to Associate and access to mentorship from Partners within a small, senior team.

Formación

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related analytical role.
• Demonstrated financial modeling experience, including building models from first principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building, auditing, and optimizing complex financial models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational discipline to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsabilidades

• Investment Analysis & Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models (three-statement, DCF) to evaluate opportunities and returns.
• Update financial models to reflect evolving conditions and asset performance.
• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support investment theses.
• Assist due diligence processes for prospective investments, coordinating third-party evaluations as needed.
• Prepare investment memoranda for Investment Committee and external stakeholders.

As part of Grupo MRP, a leading alternative asset manager, MXO pursues arbitrage and value-added investment opportunities across a broad range of industries and strategies, from equity injections to leveraged financing structures. MXO operates as a small, senior team. Analysts are given direct exposure to live transactions from an early stage of their tenure, rather than a multi-year track limited to administrative support.

The Role

As an Investment Analyst or Associate, you will work directly with the senior investment team across the full lifecycle of a transaction, from building the financial models that underpin investment decisions to contributing to the memoranda presented to the Investment Committee.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Financial Modeling

• Build and maintain financial models (three-statement, DCF) to evaluate investment opportunities and assess potential returns.
• Update financial models to reflect evolving market conditions and asset performance.
• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support investment theses.
• Actively contribute to due diligence processes for prospective investments, coordinating third-party evaluations where applicable.
• Prepare investment memoranda for presentation to the Investment Committee and external stakeholders.

Asset Management, Reporting & Investment Thinking

• Prepare asset management reports and materials, including performance summaries, strategic plans, and investor updates.
• Track the fund’s financial information and support GP-LP compliance, including distributions, reporting obligations, and regulatory adherence.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct ad hoc and specialized analyses as requested by senior team members.
