Donaldson Company is seeking a seasoned trade compliance leader to drive the Mexico Global Trade Compliance function. You will oversee policy updates, tariff classifications, and audits, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain compliant global operations.

The role requires leadership experience, deep knowledge of FTAs and customs regulations, and strong English communication skills to engage stakeholders and regulators effectively.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years in Trade Compliance, Customs, Import/Export, or International Trade.
  • Leadership experience managing trade compliance activities or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, government agencies, and regulatory audits.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the Mexico Global Trade Compliance team and provide strategic direction for compliance activities.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes, updating policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance teams to standardize processes, tariff classifications, and trade programs.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and compliance risks to senior leadership.
  • Lead customs audits, government inquiries, and ensure audit readiness through proper documentation.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and external advisors.
  • Oversee tariff classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and other trade compliance requirements.
  • Develop and improve trade compliance policies, internal controls, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to support compliant global operations.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs, Import/Export, or International Trade.
  • Leadership experience managing trade compliance activities or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, government agencies, and regulatory audits.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Trade compliance certifications (Licensed Customs Broker, CCS, CUSECO, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting multinational manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
