Job summary

Ford of Mexico is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Buyer for Brake Calipers to own the commercial strategy, lead high-stakes negotiations, and shape a robust global supplier network. The role emphasizes delivering value through cost-down initiatives while balancing quality and innovation as the industry moves toward electrification.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Finance, influence senior leadership, and work in a hybrid schedule at the GTBC location in Naucalpan de Juárez.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of automotive purchasing, strategic sourcing, or contract management.
• Direct experience sourcing brake calipers or similar high-precision components.
• Proven track record in complex commercial negotiations and supplier management.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to build business cases and cost analyses.
• Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel/Power BI).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for brake calipers across global vehicle programs and align supplier strategy with EV shift.
• Drive commercial negotiations on piece price, tooling costs, engineering changes, and annual cost-reduction targets with global suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, long-term agreements, and capacity commitments.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities using should-cost modeling, teardown analysis, and market intelligence.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Purchasing to ensure designs meet cost targets and manufacturing feasibility.
• Build and present sourcing recommendations, business cases, and financial analyses to purchasing leadership for approval.
