Job summary

Leggett Dynamics is seeking a Commodity Manager for its Automotive team to drive global commodity strategies and cost-management initiatives. You will report to the Global Category Manager and develop plans to achieve the lowest total cost of externally sourced production materials while fostering strong supplier relationships.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in commodity management with global scope, manufacturing/automotive exposure, and strong analytical, communication, and financial skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in financial or technical discipline; Master preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a category/commodity management role with global responsibilities.
• Manufacturing experience; automotive experience preferred.
• Experience building cost models and understanding should-cost.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication; strong analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and systems/database/query capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of global commodity strategies for assigned components and materials.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and secure cross-functional buy-in.
• Execute contracts reflecting sourcing initiatives with appropriate terms.
• Foster performance-based relationships with suppliers and manage supply risks.
• Consolidate global commodity activities and ensure consistent strategy implementation.
• Support regional productivity actions and evaluate feasibility of ideas.
• Ensure monthly tracking and reporting of commodity productivity actions.
