Grupo Pesado Castro is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a software development team. This role will oversee development of web-based business applications, translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions, and partner with IT leadership to shape the technology roadmap.

The ideal candidate has strong web engineering experience with React, Vue.js, Node.js, and/or .NET, a track record of leading teams, and solid Agile practices.

We’re Hiring: Software Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead software development initiatives and help translate business needs into scalable, practical technology solutions. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who combines strong software development knowledge, analytical thinking, team leadership, strategic vision, and a forward‑looking approach to AI‑enabled software engineering. You will work closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define priorities, shape the technology roadmap, and ensure development efforts deliver measurable business value.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop a software development team, establishing strong engineering practices and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the design, development, integration, and delivery of web-based business applications.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions and development plans.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to help define and execute the IT and application development strategy and roadmap.
• Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices and tools across the team, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, requirements analysis, and other stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Establish AI development best practices and governance, helping the team use AI coding assistants and emerging development tools effectively, securely, and responsibly.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI-enabled development tools and practices, determining where they can create measurable value within the engineering organization.
• Manage development priorities, technical debt, architecture considerations, and delivery commitments.
• Promote and strengthen Agile development practices, including effective planning, prioritization, and iterative delivery.
• Evaluate technologies and development approaches based on scalability, maintainability, security, cost, and business value.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and technology vendors.
• Establish development standards and continuously improve software quality, documentation, testing, and deployment practices.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Strong experience in modern web application development and software engineering.
• Experience with technologies such as React, Vue.js, Node.js, and/or .NET.
• Experience leading software developers and managing application development initiatives.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
• Strategic mindset and ability to partner with IT leadership on technology strategy, architecture, priorities, and roadmaps.
• Ability to lead engineering teams through the adoption of AI-assisted development, including establishing standards, identifying appropriate use cases, and driving effective adoption throughout the SDLC.
• Familiarity with modern AI coding assistants, agentic development tools, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional English proficiency is required.

Highly Valued

• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, fleet management, or related industries.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications, APIs, SaaS platforms, and third-party systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD, application security, and modern software architecture.
• Experience managing both internal development teams and external development partners.
• Experience implementing AI governance, secure AI development practices, or measurable AI-driven engineering productivity improvements.

You also recognize how AI is changing software engineering and can lead a development organization in adopting these capabilities pragmatically—using AI to accelerate delivery and improve quality while maintaining appropriate engineering standards, security, governance, and human oversight.
