Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) in Mexico is seeking a Quality and Compliance leader who liaises with customers and internal teams to uphold the QMS. You will oversee audits, APQP execution, and continuous improvement to reduce defects and boost product quality.

The role requires 5 years of experience, a professional degree in Business Admin or Industrial Engineering, and strong knowledge of IATF 16949, AS9100D, and ISO 14001.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management or leadership roles.
• Educational background in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, AS9100D, ISO 14001) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Satisfy customers by acting as liaison and reducing defects in shipped parts.
• Lead management reviews and maintain the Quality Management System.
• Coordinate APQP across all initial manufacturing phases.
• Define inspection methods and sampling plans from material receipt through final inspection.
• Apply advanced statistics to reduce process variation.
• Plan and perform internal audits to verify compliance.
• Establish and maintain QMS processes for ongoing compliance.
• Manage corrective actions with 8D reports and cross-functional teams.
• Validate measurement systems and ensure accuracy of instruments.

Summary

Key Responsibilities and Main Activities:

• 1.- Satisfied Customers. Acts as a liaison between customers and the plant, handles customer visits and complaints, follows up on Corrective Action Reports, and leads efforts to reduce defective parts per million (PPM) in products shipped to customers.
• 2.- Management Representative (ISO/TS IATF 16949, AS9100D, ISO 14001). Maintains the Plant Quality Manual, serves as a liaison between the Registrar, customers, and the plant, establishes management reviews of the quality system, and leads the implementation of necessary changes to the Quality Management System, continuously improving its effectiveness. Lead auditor and trainer of internal auditors for ISO/TS IATF 16949, AS9100D, and ISO 14001.
• 3.- Quality Planning. Coordinates the implementation and monitoring of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology throughout all initial manufacturing phases.
• 4.- Inspection Methods. Determines critical product and process characteristics, establishes inspection and testing methods, and develops sampling plans to be applied from raw material receipt through in-process inspections and final product inspection to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
• 5.- Application of Advanced Statistics. Trains the personnel involved and establishes the statistical techniques necessary to reduce process variation.
• 6.- Internal Audits. Coordinates processes that provide evidence to determine compliance with Quality Management System requirements and evaluate the level of compliance.
• 7.- Quality Management. Establishes, implements, maintains, and updates the processes necessary to determine the level of compliance with the Quality Management System established in the reference documentation.
• 8.- Corrective Actions. Manages the actions required to eliminate the root cause of a detected nonconformity. Follows up on 8D reports with superintendents and/or quality engineers through weekly, biweekly, or monthly meetings, as required.
• 9.- Measurement System Validation. Analyzes measurement systems, methods, instruments, and resources used to quantify units of measurement.
