Job summary

Emterra Group in Victoria, BC is seeking a General Labourer to support daily recycling plant operations. You will sort materials, remove contaminants, maintain a clean work area, and follow all safety policies. Reports to the Plant Manager and will support a new contract starting July 2026.

The role requires physical endurance, reliability, and the ability to work in a manufacturing setting under varying weather conditions. Forklift experience is a plus, with training available.

Qualifications

• Able to perform repetitive and physical tasks and lift up to 25 lb.
• Forklift experience is an asset; willing to be trained.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and follow safety training.
• Capable of working in varying weather in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
• Punctual, reliable, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.

Job Summary

Position Description

Skills & Qualifications

• Able to perform repetitive / physical tasks for extended periods of time and lift items of up to 25lb;


• Previous experience as a forklift operator is an asset, but not mandatory, however willing to be trained


• Effective interpersonal skills to be able to communicate, understand and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals and safety training;


• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which varies based on weather conditions;


• Able to work under time lines;


• Ability to work well with little supervision and take direction from direct supervisor; and


• Punctual, reliable, team player.
