Freight Forwarder Regional Vice President

GEODIS is a worldwide transportation and logistics leader. The position is based in LATAM (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru).

Responsibilities

• Formulates, communicates and administers long range goals and objectives
• Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine region progress toward stated goals and objectives
• Accepts responsibility for the profitability of the assigned account(s) through accurate and timely preparation of financial budgets and forecasts
• Confers with various personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
• Manages customer account relationships to deliver overall customer satisfaction
• Assists the business development group in securing business with new customers or additional business with existing customers
• Manages operations management personnel by interviewing, hiring, training, directing, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the region
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university (master’s preferred)
• Minimum 8 to 11 years related experience and/or training
• 10 years experience with general freight forwarding (must)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
