Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager – Leader to own embedded firmware strategy across building automation products from Mexico City R&D center.

You will define platforms, set COE standards, and lead a diverse firmware team to drive AI-enabled innovation while ensuring safety, security, and regulatory compliance. Agile/SAFe delivery and NPI ownership are core to this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with 5+ years in management.
• Deep expertise in embedded microcontrollers and processors (ARM Cortex-M/A), wireless SoCs, RTOS, and embedded Linux.
• Strong knowledge of firmware architecture, MISRA C/C++, CERT C, secure SDLC, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with building automation protocols (BACnet/Modbus/KNX), wireless connectivity (BLE/Zigbee/Thread/LTE-M), and cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, UL 2900).
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python; Rust a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year firmware roadmap and common embedded platform across Fire, BMS, and Security lines.
• Lead COE standards for coding, architecture, reviews, testing, and release management with AI governance.
• Manage a global firmware team fostering innovation, learning, and inclusion.
• Drive AI strategies to improve productivity and edge AI deployment.
• Hire, develop, and retain top talent with upskilling in security and AI.
• Own NPI delivery and sustaining engineering using Agile/SAFe within stage-gate process.
• Track KPIs: on-time delivery, defect rates, code coverage, and vulnerability closure.
