The role involves facilitating continuous improvement in Handling and Transport processes, analyzing activities, and leading projects to enhance efficiency in manufacturing. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 6-8 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of Lean principles is essential.

Come join the new Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is characterized as a co-located process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). An organization that embeds skilled engineering directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and knowledge. It all builds on a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
  • Analyze AS IS and future state and be motivated to improve activities.
  • Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
  • Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
  • Lead improvement tasks / projects.
  • Case handler on an escalation process, used when factories cannot progress production – urgent and often critical to resolve quickly.
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
  • Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • GB Lean
Experience
  • About 6-8 years of experience in similar roles as described above.
Worked with
  • Leading improvement tasks
  • Analyzing Handling & Logistics processes
  • Transport tool specification
  • Process flow creation
  • Focused on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes using the toolbox referenced above.

  • A blend of technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement.
  • Skills in process design and optimization related to Handling & Transport.
  • Willingness to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems.
  • Data-driven decision making; use of data analytics tools such as Lean.
  • Use of 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve Handling or Logistics issues.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and strong organizational discipline.
  • Ability to work with others across a large organization and build a network across cultures and time zones; ability to work with stakeholders.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to understand the full business value chain from a customer perspective.
