Steelcase is seeking a Finance Supervisor to lead the Accounts Payable and Cash teams in Mexico, with oversight across MX, US, and Canada. You will ensure accurate invoice processing, payments, and ERP transactions while driving controls and process improvements.

You will supervise a high-impact team, manage cash forecasting, and collaborate with global partners to support liquidity planning and audits. Strong P2P, SAP experience, and English proficiency are required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 11+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles, with 2–3 years in supervising or leading a team.
• Solid understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, banking operations, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and local Mexican GAAP preferred.
• Effective English communication skills (advanced).

Responsabilidades

• Supervise daily Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and ERP transactions.
• Oversee supplier account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies, guiding the team on complex issues.
• Oversee AP invoice reductions, returns, debit notes, ERS, and other AP adjustments, ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage payment processes and banking activities for Mexico, USA and Canada.
• Lead weekly cash forecasting with Global Treasury to support liquidity planning.
• Review and approve reconciliations and journal entries for AP and Cash.
• Lead month-end close for AP and Cash for corporate and statutory reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits with timely documentation.
• Ensure internal controls compliance, including SOX, duplicate payments monitoring, and supplier banking verification.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization in AP and Cash Management.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Procurement, and senior stakeholders to meet business needs.

This position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence across AP, payment execution, and banking processes for Mexico, the U.S., and Canada, supporting compliance, accuracy, cash management, internal controls, and team development while collaborating with regional and global finance partners.

Supporting Meaningful Work

• Supervise daily Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and ERP transactions.
• Oversee supplier account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies, providing guidance to the team on complex issues.
• Oversee activities related to AP invoice reductions, returns, debit notes, evaluated receipt settlement (ERS), and other AP adjustments, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Manage and oversee payment processes and banking activities, including disbursements, bank fees, and cash-related entries for Mexico, USA and Canada.
• Manage weekly cash forecasting and collaborate with Global Treasury to ensure accurate cash planning, including providing AP payment forecasts and supporting liquidity planning activities.
• Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries related to AP and Cash.
• Lead month-end close activities for AP and Cash, ensuring accuracy for corporate and statutory reporting.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including providing required documentation, and ensuring timely and complete responses.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with internal controls, including SOX requirements, payment controls, duplicate payment monitoring, and supplier banking verification processes.
• Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardization initiatives within AP and Cash Management functions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Treasury, Procurement, and senior stakeholders to support business needs and enhance operational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 11+ years of experience in Accounting, or Finance roles, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Solid understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, banking operations, and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and local accounting standards (Mexican GAAP) preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English (advanced level required).
