Bayer CropScience Limited in Tlajomulco de Zuniga, Jalisco, is seeking an experienced agronomy professional to define and lead field testing programs across a defined region. You will coordinate planting, crop management, evaluation and harvesting, and lead seasonal workers while applying best agronomic practices.

Ideal candidates have an MS in Agronomy or Plant Science, strong data handling skills, and fluency in English.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define size and scope of testing program; and select testing locations with imagen analysis software, carry out soil sampling, identify cooperators, plan, organize and implement testing program in uniform lands with irrigation facilities, application of best agronomic practices and plot techniques within defined planting dates to guarantee solid data reliability and repeatability (CVs lower than 12%) get contracts signed in all areas of testing.


• Execute activities of planting, crop management, evaluation and harvesting of a defined region; Management and coordination teamwork.


• Lead and develop seasonal workers on daily operations. Use the best agronomic practices for crop management (fertilization, pest and disease control); have knowledge of main agrochemical (herbicides, insecticides and fungicides) registered by crop; calibrate spraying equipment and adopt best practices in the application of technology.


• Solves complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning to the design and interpret plant breeding experiments.


• Develop an organizational culture that creates a great place to work, best in class positive work environment and growth of individuals.


• Uses cultural awareness and maximizes opportunities for teams and individuals by utilizing a global lens to lead; Work closely to the management team to absorb experience, develop critical thinking and improve people management skills.


• Early adopter for all new fields and data managing technologies, being a role model for innovations (UAV, software, data collection, equipment's).


• Upload and manage testing information in Velocity (internal software; run basic analysis and perform quality review and control (QA / QC).


• Connect with Technology Deployment Scientist to data and analysis review for will take strong decisions based on data.


• Lead and create connection with site leads, to solve local problems, also planning business and community projects.


• Drive creation and review of SOPs and JSA for key operational activities; implement process improvements; follow the KPIs related to operational activities. Be responsible for a regional testing network, make local decisions about selecting seasonal workers, transport dealers and ground spraying.

WHO YOU ARE

• MS in Agronomy or Plant science.


• Broad knowledge of crop production and farming practices as well as farm equipment operation and repair.


• Intermedium written and verbal communication skills in English.


• Be a self-starter with Teamwork skills including excellent organizational and record keeping skills, and the ability to foster a positive team environment.


• Critical thinking and problem solving.


• Computer skills related to data generation and analysis. Take decisions with data analysis.


• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
