Overview.ai in Mexicali is seeking an Application Controls Engineer to support a major manufacturing customer on site. You will install cameras, integrate with PLCs, and keep vision systems running under live production constraints.

This role is ideal for a controls/mechatronics or electrical engineer with a few years automation experience who wants to move into AI vision systems; you will own the on-site deployment with direct interaction with the product team.

Formación

• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with a background in controls, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
• Direct experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar): configuring I/O, reading documentation, and troubleshooting connectivity.
• Experience installing, configuring, or integrating hardware on live production equipment without breaking existing controls.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical and hardware problems on-site with a multimeter, oscilloscope, or continuity tester, with a working understanding of voltage, current, and signal integrity.
• Time on a manufacturing floor and an understanding of downtime pressure and production constraints.
• Based in Mexicali or willing to relocate there, and able to work to customer shift schedules and production priorities.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish, since you will work with the local plant team and with Overview engineering.

Responsabilidades

• System installation of Overview cameras, lighting, and hardware on production lines and validate the setup.
• PLC integration with existing PLCs; map I/O and set up communication protocols.
• On-site troubleshooting of connectors, timing, encoder feedback, and I/O in live production.
• Production validation of speed, accuracy, and reliability; tune for lighting and vibration.
• Customer enablement through training operators, maintenance, and engineers.
• Deployment support as the technical contact during installation and ramp-up.
• Documentation of configuration records and setup guides for the customer team.
• Provide product feedback based on real-world constraints and failure modes.
