Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a COE Manager to drive ERP implementation and manufacturing engineering excellence across multiple plants. You will lead the COE to deliver best practices, validate layouts, routings, and inventory controls, and report standard costs and perpetual inventory with accuracy.

The role requires 8+ years in manufacturing and ERP leadership, with strong analytics and change-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
• 8+ years of Management experience.
• 8+ years of Manufacturing experience.
• ERP system implementation active participation.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with MRP and ERP systems.
• Must be able to analyze and interpret complex technical procedures, business periodicals, and journals as well as write reports and procedure manuals.
• Degree in Business or equivalent field. MBA preferred though not required. APICS Certification preferred though not required.
• In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement, finance and distribution) and a superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
• Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment.
• Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations and supporting business processes and the ability to effectively communicate and drive change in a manufacturing environment, across levels in the organization and extending to internal and external partners, is critical.
• Ability to understand and clarify business needs and develop processes that achieve business objectives is a must.
• Extended knowledge of ERP business systems and experience as business analyst helping to design and document processes, including implementing supporting IT tools, preferred. SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead ERP systems and Manufacturing Engineering activities to have ERP fully implemented and report standard cost and perpetual inventory.
• Manage COE services for multiple departments from project start to closure.
• Provide best practices, research, support and training across focus areas.
• Develop and implement proper manufacturing plant layouts describing ERP systems, SCM setups and work centers.
• Validate drawings, develop routings with cycle times using lean manufacturing tools.
• Ensure standard cost reporting and perpetual inventory accuracy.
