Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a seasoned COE Manager to drive ERP implementation, standard cost reporting, and perpetual inventory across manufacturing plants. You will lead a center of excellence, delivering best practices, training, and cross‑functional support from project initiation to closure.

The role requires 8+ years in manufacturing and ERP environments, with strong leadership, SAP experience, and MS Office proficiency. A MBA and APICS are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field.
• 8+ years of management experience.
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
• ERP system implementation active participation.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with MRP and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, reporting and documentation skills.
• MBA preferred though not required; APICS certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).

Responsibilities

• Oversee ERP systems and Manufacturing Engineering activities to ensure ERP is fully implemented and reports standard cost and perpetual inventory.
• Direct accountability for COE services across multiple departments on projects from start to finish.
• Lead the COE to provide best practices, research, support, and training across business units.
• Develop and implement plant layouts, SCM setups, work centers, and routings with proper cycle times, using lean tools.
• Provide feedback during initial validation to achieve standard cost reporting and full perpetual inventory.
