Job summary

Flex is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineer in Guadalajara, North Campus to support manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and program SMT equipment, ensuring reliability and safety while driving continuous improvement.

The role includes asset control and coordinating maintenance activities. The day-to-day involves diagnosing electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures, performing repairs, updating status and metrics, and leading start-ups, validations, and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Experience in equipment maintenance & manufacturing operations.
• Experience with equipment installation and relocation.
• Advanced English communication.
• Consistent experience with SMT equipment, Pick & place, ovens & screen printer.
• Strong ability to have direct communication with clients and create strategic partnership.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot SMT equipment, identifying failures in electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform repairs, component replacements, adjustments, and fine tuning on advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Update daily equipment status, performance metrics, and downtime reports.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Program, optimize, and support equipment including: ASM (SIPLACE / DEK).
• Lead equipment start ups, testing, commissioning, and validations.
• Document maintenance logs, corrective actions, and technical reports.
• Train technicians, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to maintenance procedures.
• Promote safety, compliance, and best maintenance practices.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Equipment Maintenance Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Director the Equipment Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and programming SMT equipment, ensuring reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. Also will be in charge of asset controlling/ administration.

What a typical day looks like:

• Troubleshot SMT equipment, identifying failures in electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform repairs, component replacements, adjustments, and fine tuning on advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Update daily equipment status, performance metrics, and downtime reports.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Perform calibrations and re qualifications (electrical, pneumatic, optical).
• Program, optimize, and support equipment including: ASM (SIPLACE / DEK)
• Lead equipment start ups, testing, commissioning, and validations.
• Document maintenance logs, corrective actions, and technical reports.
• Support audits, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
• Train technicians, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to maintenance procedures.
• Promote safety, compliance, and best maintenance practices.
