Job summary

Nidec Automation in Reynosa, Mexico seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to supervise a team of sustaining engineers responsible for production support. You will lead VA/VE initiatives aimed at reducing costs while maintaining quality and safety in launched products.

You will coordinate with manufacturing and customers, provide direction on priorities, and ensure timely resolution of production issues. Strong CAD/ERP skills and leadership experience are essential.

Job description

This position is responsible for supervising a team of sustaining engineers who are responsible for coordinating all activities related to engineering support for motors that are in production. Leads VA/VE initiatives that pertain to operations, quality, and cost reduction tasks to continuously improve commercial value through end-of-life. Serves as engineering representative to the customer and liaises with the manufacturing facility to address any emergent or ongoing issues related to the product. Works cross-functionally to maintain safety and quality of launched products. Monitors work product of team and provides direction on daily tasks.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee engineering support of product in production

• Works with customer to support customer-requested modifications to motors in production

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field

Experience and qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in engineering or related field, including 3+ years of managerial experience
• Ability to work with CAD-related design documents and ERP systems
• Ability to provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience reporting out, and presenting to, leadership
• Good customer communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities/create and update priority lists
• Work on cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement changes
