LiveAuctioneers in Guadalajara, MX, seeks an Engineering Manager to drive backend platform excellence, delivering scalable services powering payments, shipping, and core commerce features. You will own end-to-end delivery from design through production, with a focus on reliability, performance, and stakeholder support.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience leading a cross-functional engineering team.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven backend experience with GoLang, Python, PHP or similar web technologies.
• Deep expertise in microservices architecture, API design, inter-service communication, data ownership.
• Solid experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes, deployment and scaling.
• Strong understanding of RabbitMQ and/or Kafka for event-driven workflows.
• Proficiency with MySQL including schema design and query optimization.
• Full software lifecycle: design, architecture, testing, production deployments, observability.
• Fluency with Agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and decompose complex problems for teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Business understanding to drive pragmatic engineering decisions.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical strategies for backend services.
• Balance partner needs by designing solutions that improve reliability and enable fast feature delivery.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of backend microservices with production-grade quality and observability.
• Champion development practices including code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
• Drive adoption of event-driven patterns ensuring resilience and fault tolerance.
• Ensure effective Agile ceremonies and continuously improve velocity and predictability.
• Grow, mentor, and develop a team of backend engineers with a culture of ownership and learning.
• Provide technical and organizational leadership shaping the platform’s architecture and infrastructure.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with product managers and leadership.
• Communicate trade-offs and decisions clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
• Model engineering excellence and continuous learning across the team.
