Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Systems Engineer to develop and verify powertrain systems, including DFMEAs, risk analysis, and design-rule compliance for transmission and eDrive components.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage CAMEO-based models, and ensure alignment with GPDS gateways while driving design verification across ICE, power-split, and BEV platforms.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of transmission or power unit development experience.
  • 3+ years of FMA Development experience (DFMEA, RCL, P-Diagram).
  • Advanced knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
  • Experience with SysML modeling language and RAAML specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission/eDrive components and failure modes.
  • Formal Systems Engineering knowledge.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop Ford ICE, Power Split, and BEV powertrain systems using systems engineering, signoff, and failure mode avoidance practices.
  • Use MBSE tools to develop and maintain DFMEAs across legacy and future powertrains.
  • Collaborate with Technical Specialists and D&R teams to include design parameters in models and drive design verification.
  • Own FMA documentation, including DFMEAs, Boundary Diagrams, DV Plans, and Quality History.
  • Maintain lessons learned and apply them to future designs through FMA and design-rule processes.
  • Create system documentation, architecture diagrams, and functional specifications; govern system-level requirements.
  • Ensure new designs meet GPDS program gateways and deliverables.

Descripción del empleo

  • Develop Ford ICE, Power Split, and BEV powertrain systems using systems engineering, signoff, and failure mode avoidance practices
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) to develop and maintain DFMEAs across legacy and future powertrains
  • Work with Technical Specialists and D&Rs to include design parameters in models and drive design verification
  • Own FMA documentation, including DFMEAs, Boundary Diagrams, DV Plans, and Quality History
  • Maintain lessons learned and apply them to future designs through FMA and design-rule processes
  • Manage Unit Workbooks, design specifications, and descriptive models communicating powertrain requirements and capabilities
  • Create single-point lessons on FMA documentation
  • Assess new powertrain designs and determine applicable design rules, requirements, and regulations
  • Work with design and release engineers to develop evidence for compliance before technical specialist sign-off
  • Facilitate joint design reviews across product development, manufacturing, and quality
  • Assist handoff of design work from concept to production development teams
  • Create system documentation, architecture diagrams, and functional specifications; govern system-level requirements
  • Ensure new designs and vehicles meet GPDS program gateways and deliverables
  • Understand and apply design rules and requirements for transmission and power-unit components and systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field required
  • 3+ years of transmission or power unit development experience
  • 3+ years of experience with FMA Development (DFMEA, RCL, P-Diagram, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw), PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability, IQ-FMEA, or similar
  • Experience with SysML modeling language and RAAML specifications
  • Knowledge of transmission/eDrive system components, assembly, and associated failure modes
  • Advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering
  • Preferred: Master's in Product Development, Systems Engineering, or another engineering discipline
  • Basic software writing experience in Python or Groovy
  • Experience analyzing descriptive models for complex decision-making
  • Prior experience in systems design and processes
  • Formal Systems Engineering knowledge
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, electric motors, battery systems, and traditional ICE components
