Koch is seeking a qualified engineer to support NPI builds and process development in a manufacturing environment in Mexico. The role involves coordinating with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery, compliance with ISO standards, and effective change management.

Strong communication and English proficiency are required, with experience in high-volume settings preferred. The position is a temporary maternity-leave cover based in Tijuana, offering exposure to global supply

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial/manufacturing/related engineering field.
  • +2 years of experience in Maquiladoras environments.
  • Fluency in English (80%-90%).
  • Proficient use of Office tools (Word, Excel, Power BI).

Responsabilidades

  • Contribute to ISO 13485, AS9100 and customer audits for Change Management and NPI builds.
  • Develop and analyze manufacturing plans considering capacity, inventory, and risks.
  • Manage shipment dates for NPI builds and monitor KPI performance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing and HSE to ensure readiness and on-time execution.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews of Engineering Change Orders and ensure traceability.

Your Job
What You Will Do
  • Contribute to the successful completion of ISO 13485, AS9100, and customer-specific audits related to Change Management and NPI build processes.
  • Develop and analyze manufacturing plans within the context of existing commitments, capacity constraints, inventory levels, and associated risks.
  • Exercise sound judgment in managing competing constraints and evaluating the feasibility of expedite requests.
  • Communicate and make decisions regarding committed shipment dates for NPI builds.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate appropriate metrics to measure process effectiveness.
  • Advise management on KPI performance, escalation requests, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage industry, application, and subject matter expertise to mentor, coach, challenge, and develop team members.
  • Act as the primary interface between Engineering and Manufacturing leadership teams to coordinate NPI builds and changes to existing products and processes.
  • Perform all assigned duties and any additional responsibilities arising from the position's operations or as required by the supervisor or management.
  • Establish lead times for NPI builds by considering existing commitments, capacity limitations, inventory availability, and risk factors.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure ERP/MRP planning dates are accurate and reflect customer requirement changes and agreed-upon priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely material availability.
  • Schedule work orders, including the allocation of equipment, materials, and qualified operators.
  • Track builds throughout material procurement, inspection, production, testing, and shipment to customers.
  • Escalate support requests and drive issue resolution.
  • Partner with the NPI Project Manager to ensure readiness for initial builds, including verification that ERP/MRP data is complete and accurate, orders are properly reserved, and tooling and work instructions are available.
  • Forecast NPI revenue timing and ensure commitment fulfillment.
  • Ensure build traceability and maintain proper documentation practices.
  • Coordinate with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) to ensure process and equipment risks have been assessed and mitigated prior to build launch.
  • Share lessons learned during post-build reviews and evaluate build performance against routing standards.
  • Optimize global ECO (Engineering Change Order) processes, systems, and tools to ensure proposed changes undergo a robust cross-functional review prior to implementation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to standardize implementation deliverables, ownership, and timelines based on assessed risk levels.
  • Manage multiple change requests with varying levels of urgency and complexity.
  • Ensure changes are managed in compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Utilize metrics to identify, prioritize, and monitor continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Achieve the challenging balance between ensuring thorough review processes and the timely execution of proposed changes.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related fields.
  • +2 years of experience in Maquiladoras environments
  • Excellent use of Office (Word, Excel, Power BI etc).
  • Fluency in English (80%-90%)
