Schneider Electric is seeking an Engineer I for Electrical Systems Design to support North America across Mexico, the United States, and Canada. You will assist in designing, configuring, and applying panelboards, breakers, and automation equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical/automation fields, 1–3 years of related experience, and strong communication in English.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related engineering field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial Panelboards, automation or application engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with breakers, relays, transformers and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar).
  • English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Engineer I, Electrical Systems Design (Application Engineer)

We're looking for...

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer who is passionate about industrial Panelboards, automation & Protections technologies, and solving technical challenges. This role will support engineering teams across Mexico, United States and Canada, requiring technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global environment.

The ideal candidate has experience working with Panelboards, Breakers, control logic, electrical distribution, current transformers, and industrial communication networks. If you enjoy applying engineering expertise to support customers and internal teams, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you do?
  • Provide technical support and application engineering expertise to engineering teams across North America.
  • Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of Panelboards.
  • Support the selection and application of industrial automation and electrical equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical specialists, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve product and system issues.
  • Participate in the development of conceptual and detailed application designs for customer projects.
  • Support system integration activities involving industrial communication protocols and automation solutions.
  • Analyze technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions based on customer needs and industry best practices.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and solutions clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards, and technical documentation.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in industrial Panelboards, automation, or application engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Breakers
    • Relays
    • Transformers
    • Industrial control systems
    • Industrial communication protocols (such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or similar)
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective engineering solutions.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts with engineering teams located in the United States and Canada.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
