Varel Energy Solutions in Matamoros is seeking an Engineer, CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will design and direct engineering projects with the design team, focusing on turning concepts into producible tooling and components.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of CNC programming experience, reads drawings with GD&T, and is comfortable working with CAM software and G-code. Bilingual skills are desirable to collaborate across functions at our Matamoros facility.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of CNC programming experience in manufacturing environments.
• Bilingual is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret drawings, understand geometric tolerances and engineering standards.
• Knowledge of machining processes on CNC lathes and milling machines (multi-task lathes with live tooling / 5-axis centers).
• Analyze 3D-modeled parts to determine cutting tools and machining strategies.
• Understand machine coordinate systems and tool offsets for proper size and shape.
• Post-process CNC programs and ensure correct execution on machines.
• Establish standard tool lists and ensure product quality per specifications.

Summary: VES is looking for a Engineer, CNC Programmer to join our team in our Matamoros location. This person will work to designand direct engineering projects through the respective design team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, understand geometric tolerances, and comprehend engineering standards.
• Knowledge of machining processes on CNC lathes and CNC milling machines (multi-task lathes with live tooling / vertical and horizontal 5-axis machining centers).
• Analysis of 3D-modeled parts to determine cutting tools and machining strategies.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems (machine zero points) and understanding of on-machine tool offsets to determine size and shape (tool offsets).
• Understanding of “G” and “M” code language; ability to interpret differences in program post-processing between different machines to be used.
• Selection of cutting tools based on raw material specifications and the shapes of parts to be machined (required radii, surfaces requiring fine finishes, cavities with tight tolerances, etc.).
• Evaluation of tool parameters (RPM, cutting speed, cutting depths) while considering the capabilities of the equipment on which they will be used, with the goal of maximizing tool efficiency while ensuring product quality.
• Preferred proficiency in CAM programming software (CreoMfg / MasterCam / GibsCam) as well as on-machine programming. Knowledge of 1:1 simulation software (Creo / MasterCam / Vericut) to ensure proper tool machining.
• Develop standard tool lists for each machine, including descriptions of inserts or tools, diameters, exposure lengths, holders, and positions in the tool magazine.
• Perform post-processing of CNC control programs to ensure their correct execution and operation.
• Establish controls to ensure the correct execution of programs on the machine.
• Ensure the quality of the machined product in accordance with specifications.
• Analyze and improve productivity by optimizing cycle times for critical “bottleneck” operations in the manufacturing process.
• Analyze and implement new products introduced into production areas.
• Assist and provide support in adjusting machines in the event of malfunctions, problems, or irregularities.
• Assist with the implementation and commissioning of new CNC equipment for the production area.

Education and/or Experience:

• Professional career and/or relevant experience in the field. A degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in CNC programming, preferably in manufacturing environments.
• Bilingual (desirable)
