Real-Time Knowledge is seeking a seasoned software engineer to develop robust Linux-based components and contribute to real-time solutions. You will work on C, Python, and Shell applications, addressing customer issues and collaborating with global engineering teams.

The role emphasizes deep Linux kernel knowledge, Yocto familiarity, and strong communication skills in English. You will design use cases for Linux components and help patch distributions as needed.

Formación

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux platforms (kernel, user space, build systems).
• Experience with C, Python, and Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Git and Jira is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of OS concepts and Linux kernel internals.
• Experience fixing and patching Linux distributions (Yocto, CentOS, etc.).
• Understanding processor architectures (ARM, PPC, MIPS, X86) or familiarity.

Real-Time Knowledge

This position requires real-time knowledge and expertise in developing solutions based on VxWorks. You will be expected to apply your understanding of real-time operating systems and their specific requirements to developing and implementing software components. Debugging and Application Development You will utilize your strong troubleshooting skills to debug and resolve technical issues reported by customers and internal teams. Additionally, you will be involved in developing software applications, using your experience with C, Python, and Shell programming languages to create robust and efficient solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Supporting customers by resolving technical issues and providing solutions.
• Collaborating with the global field engineering team, premium support team, and R&D engineers.
• Contributing to open-source communities.
• Fixing defects reported by internal and external users.
• Monitoring and resolving security issues.
• Designing and implementing software components for Linux Operating Systems.
• Integrating open-source or independent software vendors' components.
• Designing and implementing use cases for various Linux components.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related majors.
• At least 5+ years of experience working with Linux platforms, including kernel, user space, and build systems.
• Experience in development and familiarity with C, Python, and Shell programming languages.
• Experience with Git and Jira would be beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts and Linux kernel internals.
• Knowledge and experience in fixing and patching Linux distributions (Yocto, CentOS, etc.).
• Deep understanding of processor architectures such as ARM, PPC, MIPS, and X86, or at least familiarity with one of them.
• Proficient in English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
