Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mexico City. The ideal candidate combines strong cost management skills with clear communication and teamwork to develop cost plans from concept through design.

Responsibilities include updating cost plans, evaluating design changes, providing commercial input, and delivering lifecycle cost analyses for large-scale projects. Advanced English and a construction-focused degree are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced English required for international clients.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, cost management, quantity surveying or related construction field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in cost management or estimating.
• Experience in roles such as Estimating, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer or Cost Controls.
• Client facing experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting program level cost management for medium/large projects.
• Knowledge of value management and value engineering.

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Electrical Estimator to join our talented team. The ideal individual will be a good communicator and a team player with a good foundation in cost and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Developing cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design.
• Supporting Client land acquisitions.
• Delivering and presenting updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
• Reviewing proposed design changes/new technologies and preparing estimates within appropriate accuracy levels.
• Understanding design stages and estimate levels.
• Providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises.
• Preparing cash commit forecasts for the construction life cycle.
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/ cost plans.
• Analyzing labor markets and cost drivers such as unions & tax.
• Supporting our clients with monthly presentations.
• Delivering Life Cycle Costing models.
• Benchmarking integration to ensure accurate data capture.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

• Advanced level of English required, as the candidate will be working with international Clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in a construction cost management role such as Estimating, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
• Thrives in a client facing role.
• Experience supporting program level cost management for medium or large-scale construction projects.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering
• Strong communication skills
