Job summary

HARMAN International is seeking a Safety & EH&S professional to support risk detection, compliance with health and safety laws, and incident investigations in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will collaborate with supervisors and subcontractors to maintain a safe workplace and drive continuous safety improvements.

The role requires a professional degree or equivalent, 2-3 years of related experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Professional degree or high school diploma is required.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing and safety management is preferred.
• Knowledge of government safety, health and environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the EH&S indicators to ensure favorable results.
• Assist with compliance to EH&S legal requirements.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and mitigations.
• Authorize and monitor risk jobs for employees and contractors with training and permits.
• Identify and address unsafe acts and conditions to prevent incidents.
• Support safety trainings and continuous improvement projects.

About The Role

Responsible for providing the necessary support so that the results of the EH&S indicators are favorable, as well as giving the necessary support to the activities assigned by their immediate supervisor.

What You Will Do

• Support in the detection of risks and behaviors of people, directing staff to have good safety practices, as well as the timely detection of high-risk operations within operations guaranteeing a safe work environment.
• Provide the support required to comply with the EH&S legal requirements.
• Generate the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine the causes and reasons that generate accidents and incidents.
• Authorize and monitor risk jobs performed by employees and contractors compliance with the safe word of internal and external employees (contractors), through training, review documents and work permits.
• Detection of unsafe acts and conditions (almost accidents), in order to control situations where an accident may occur.
• Investigation of accidents and incidents in order to determine the causes and motives that generate accidents and incidents to mitigate them through problem solving and Yokoten (Sharing knowledge).
• Participates in safety brigades and EHSS committees.
• Support to inventory of hazardous and Non-hazardous waste.
• Control of direct chemicals.
• Participates and provides support related with quality and EHSS systems management.
• Implementation projects of continuous improvement.
• Support in safety trainings for legal accomplishment.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Professional Degree or High School
• 2-3 years of related experience.
• Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry preferably
• Knowledge of government obligations regarding industrial safety, health and environmental laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety operations.
• Experience in managing work groups.
• Computer knowledge (Office)
