HARMAN in Mexico’s Baja California region is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. You will lead cross-functional teams, implement continuous improvement, and ensure ISO 9001/14001 alignment while reducing waste and maximizing line efficiency.

This role requires strong Lean manufacturing discipline and 5+ years of manufacturing management experience, with a focus on operational performance and talent development.

• Lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
• 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

About the Role

Responsible for the results of the indicators: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The team leader must apply HPS philosophy. Develop Harman skills in employees.

The employee has the authority granted by the company through this document to make decisions for the benefit of the company to ensure the conformity of the product, its quality, functionality, the health and safety of the person who intervenes in the process, in accordance with quality, safety, and environmental systems and customer-specific requirements.

What You Will Do

• Participate in the planning, approval, review, and implementation process of strategies and policies regarding general manufacturing.
• Establish multidisciplinary teams to work on continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce waste.
• Support quality systems and environmental management implemented in the company.
• Formulate short-and long-term plans to be consistent with the strategies and policies of the business.
• Select, develop, and motivate the company's management talent to optimize operational performance and promote growth.
• Support the development of new products and process capability to ensure continuous improvement.
• Participate in fostering engagement between the corporation and the plant management to establish the necessary interaction to achieve both individual goals and objectives.
• Ensure that the requirements of the SAA and SC are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 14000, ISO 9001, and VDA.
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process, quality system, and environmental management system.
• Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, quality system, and environmental management system.
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through established communication channels.
• To represent the needs of the customer in internal functions according to the requirements of the Quality System.
• Review the previous day’s production to evaluate shipment risks for the customer.
• Notify of any risk covering shipments (materials, SMD, etc.).
• Review strategies to accomplish indicators for daily audits (Quality, 5’s, etc.).
• Capacity calculation for every line and new launch to anticipate production capacity constraints.
• Encourage the team to improve production rates.
• Participate and provide support related to environmental, health, and Safety objectives, targets, and programs.

What You Need to Be Successful

• Lean Manufacturing
• 5 or more years of management experience in manufacturing operations

• This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than four (4) active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
