Job summary

Franke is seeking an EHS intern to support the department in various activities aimed at mitigating operational risks and promoting accident prevention within the facility. You will perform safety walks, inspect emergency equipment, audit PPE usage, maintain SDS inventories, organize safety awareness campaigns, support emergency response teams, and assist with related EHS tasks.

Qualifications

Active student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Availability to complete an internship program.
Basic knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) principles and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proactive attitude and attention to detail.
Ability to perform safety inspections and plant safety walks.
Interest in emergency response teams and safety programs.
Basic to intermediate English proficiency (preferred).

Responsibilities

Safety walks: Detect unsafe acts or conditions in work areas
Emergency equipment inspection: checks of fire extinguishers, hydrants, first aid kits, eyewash stations and other safety equipment
PPE audits: Verify that personnel are correctly using Personal Protective Equipment
SDS: Keep chemical substance inventories and folders up to date
Awareness campaigns: Assist in organizing safety week, drills, or health events
Emergency response teams: Support the coordination and meeting minutes for response teams (First Aid, Evacuation, Firefighting)
