EHS Engineer - Startup Electronics Factory (Mexico)

Job summary

NAPS Careers seeks an EHS Engineer to launch and grow our electronics manufacturing facility in Mexico. This role builds and maintains Environmental, Health & Safety programs, ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports ISO management systems during a startup phase.

You will develop EHS procedures, conduct risk assessments, lead safety programs, manage environmental compliance, deliver training, and coordinate emergency planning and incidents with regulators.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in EHS in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican regulations and NOM standards.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Startup/greenfield project experience preferred.
• Fluent English communication required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs in compliance with Mexican regulations and NOM standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety inspections to prevent incidents.
• Lead safety programs for high-risk activities including LOTO, working at heights, hot work, and contractor safety.
• Manage environmental compliance activities including hazardous waste, chemical management, wastewater, and emissions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct emergency drills.
• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies, audits, inspections, and reporting.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems maintenance.
• Track and report EHS metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
