Job summary

Aptiv seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead the development and continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental programs in our Reynosa facility. You will ensure regulatory and corporate compliance while protecting employees and reducing risks.

You will partner with leadership, medical services, and external agencies to maintain a safe, compliant work environment and drive KPIs and Kaizen initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree in Occupational Health & Safety is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in EHS roles within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and compliance requirements.
• Experience implementing EHS Management Systems including ISO 45001.
• Ability to work with government inspections, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor, and continually improve EHS programs and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate health and safety requirements.
• Participate in Occupational Health and Safety Committees and support compliance with ISO 45001.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver safety training and awareness programs for employees.
• Lead accident prevention initiatives, risk reduction programs, and safety projects.
• Evaluate workplace hazards and determine PPE requirements.
• Coordinate medical surveillance programs with medical services.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to verify compliance and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage internal and external health and safety audits and corrective actions.
• Develop and communicate EHS policies and guidelines.
• Partner with government agencies to stay informed on regulatory changes.
• Advise management on safety requirements for operations and new projects.
• Develop EHS KPIs and report progress to leadership.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives in health, safety, environmental awareness, and Kaizen.
• Promote proactive safety culture supporting quality and energy management objectives.
