Construction Specialties in MX-Coahuila Acuna region seeks a Drafting Team Lead to guide the drafting group, ensuring accuracy, on-time delivery, and improved customer satisfaction.

You will allocate workload, coordinate with cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with ISO, CTPAT, and related policies while managing attendance and performance reviews.

Formación

• Associates degree or equivalent with 3–5 years related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and conflict resolution.
• CAD experience reading blueprints preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership, direction, and training to drafting team to ensure accuracy, on-time, and service to customers.
• Assign workload and monitor to meet commit dates; coordinate distribution of work.
• Act as interdepartmental liaison to ensure effective collaboration with functional groups.
• Ensure resources are available to meet requirements; facilitate group processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and implement policies with best practices.
• Handle significant escalations and liaise with customers and sales channels as needed.
• Provide feedback and coaching; develop the group in process, dynamics, and problem solving.
• Guide problem solving toward quality/timeliness/productivity improvements; orient new members.
• Maintain awareness of customer needs related to drawings and architecture requirements.
• Record Time and Attendance and ensure timely performance reviews.
• Review and monitor ISO, CTPAT, and regulatory practices for compliance.

Scope Of Position

Responsible for leading and managing the Drafting team members. This includes holding accountability to the staff and business operations of the department to achieve best-in‑class quality and accuracy of work performed. Increase customer satisfaction levels while improving the impact and influence of the department team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Continually provides leadership, direction, and training to drafting team to ensure high levels of accuracy, on‑time, and service to our customers.
• Assigns and monitors the workload of the drafting staff to ensure all assigned work is completed by commit date. Coordinates work of assigned drafting staff to assure proper distribution of workload to meet on‑time goals.
• Acts as interdepartmental liaison to ensure the drafting team and staff work effectively with counterparts of the functional groups and services throughout CS businesses.
• Ensures that work groups have necessary resources to complete requirements. Helps facilitate the group process both in meetings and in daily operations.
• Responsible for continuous improvement practices and implementing policies and procedures alongside best practices.
• Handles significant service or support escalations from within the department and contacts customers and sales channel members as required.
• Provides feedback and coaching for assigned staff. Develops the entire group in group process, team dynamics, basic quality tools, and problem solving models and techniques.
• Guides work group problem solving process toward continuous improvement of quality, timeliness, and productivity measures and expediently advises groups of any organizational changes that may affect their processes. Orients new members of departments. Ensures that department goals are pertinent and clear to all. Helps group reach consensus of key issues.
• Maintains familiarity with on‑going and future needs of our customers in relation to architectural and drawing requirements.
• Responsible for processing Time and Attendance records and approval.
• Ensures that performance reviews are conducted on time in the department.
• Continually reviews, updates, and monitors key business policies, disciplines, and principles, including but not limited to ISO, CTPAT and other regulatory practices to ensure adoption and practice from all team members.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Education

• Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams. Demonstrated skills for conflict resolution. Ability to hold team members accountable and hold difficult conversations.
• Previous knowledge and experience using Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) System and ability to read blueprints is preferred.
