Gamma Recruitment is seeking a Direct Materials Buyer in Apodaca, NL to lead the direct materials sourcing strategy for production, ensuring continuity and mitigating supply chain risks.

You will define purchasing strategies, negotiate pricing and lead times, audit suppliers, and oversee POs while aligning forecasts with inventory targets. Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel, plus fluent English, are required.

Direct Materials Buyer

Location: Apodaca, N.L.

Job Purpose:

Lead the direct materials sourcing strategy for production, ensuring operational continuity, mitigating supply chain risks, and developing a high-performing supplier base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing Strategy & Negotiation: Define the purchasing strategy for direct materials, negotiating pricing, contracts, lead times, and payment terms.
• Supply Assurance & Risk Management: Guarantee continuous raw material flow for the plant, monitoring delivery compliance (On-Time Delivery) to prevent line stops and bottlenecks.
• Supplier Development & Evaluation: Audit, evaluate, and develop new local and international supply sources, establishing continuous improvement plans and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Operational Execution & Inventory Control: Oversee the issuance, tracking, and closure of purchase orders (POs), aligning demand forecasts with optimal inventory levels.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering in International Trade / Business, Industrial, Mechanical, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields.
• Languages: Advanced / Fluent conversational English (mandatory for international supplier negotiations).
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience in strategic sourcing of direct materials within the manufacturing sector.

• Technical Knowledge:
• Proficiency in SAP
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial analysis).
