OPmobility is seeking a Dimensional Validation Engineer to join our engineering team in Mexico. You will define datum schemes, perform tolerance stack-ups, develop fixtures, and drive geometry convergence aligned with PPAP and D.REVIEW processes.

You will collaborate across clusters, support audits, training, and geometry standards, and help recruit and develop talent. Fluent English required; five years of hands-on geometry experience expected.

Formación

  • Minimum 5 years in geometry field with customer interaction.
  • Strong expertise in tolerance stack-ups and datum systems.
  • Experience in dimensional inspection and measuring results.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).

Responsabilidades

  • Define datum schemes, perform tolerance stack-ups, and develop checking fixtures and R&R studies.
  • Drive geometry convergence in alignment with RFT/PPAP plans and ensure full use of geometry convergence tools.
  • Support tolerance feasibility discussions and negotiate tolerance commitments with stakeholders.
  • Validate Geometry Folders, measurement scenarios, and CTQ documentation for assigned projects.
  • Participate in D.REVIEW, QUAD, TFC, and Geometry network activities; contribute to methodology improvement.
  • Provide training and support in product geometry, tolerance analysis, and checking fixture management.
  • Maintain and update geometry standards, including Spec Books, dashboards, and CTQ definitions.
  • Support supplier audits, qualification, and training on OP Standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, competence development, and HR documentation for geometry roles.
  • Coordinate with clusters (China, Portugal, India, etc.) and ensure alignment with central métier leadership.
  • Plan and organize workload with the Engineering Group Leader and contribute to technical workshops.
  • Perform technical watch activities and support lessons‑learned documentation.
  • Define the geometry roadmap (skills, tools, software, measurement technology, localization) aligned with EC strategy.
  • Estimate budgets for geometry activities and support project teams during tolerance feasibility and measurement phases.
  • Ensure proper use of geometry tools, methods, and standards across all projects.
  • Provide dimensional support including tool shrinkage definitions and plant capability consolidation to improve tolerance models.

Main Responsibilities
  • Define datum schemes, perform tolerance stack‑ups, and develop checking fixtures and R&R studies.
  • Drive geometry convergence in alignment with RFT/PPAP plans and ensure full use of geometry convergence tools.

Profile Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in the geometry field, including direct customer interaction and coordination between product and process engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical engineering, tolerance stack‑ups, datum systems, statistical analysis, tolerancing methods, and dimensional convergence.
  • Proven experience in dimensional inspection and interpretation of measurement results.Ability to lead and engage local functional networks and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Conversational English proficiency, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to cascade information, support organizational rollout, and ensure alignment across teams.
