Descripción del empleo

About us:

Spring Financial is a Canadian financial technology company focused on making every day financial services simpler, faster, and more accessible.

We build technology that helps Canadians build credit, save money, and access lending products without unnecessary friction. Our platforms allow customers to apply and manage their finances online, by text, or over the phone, making the experience convenient and flexible.

Since launching in 2014, Spring has grown into one of Canada’s largest fintechs, with over 250,000+ product originations across credit‑building products, personal lending, and mortgage solutions. We’re a fast‑growing, product‑driven team that values practical solutions, strong execution, and thoughtful collaboration. We give people ownership, trust them to make decisions, and focus on building systems that scale reliably.

If you’re interested in working on real‑world fintech platforms used by hundreds of thousands of Canadians, Spring offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact through well‑built technology.

About the role:

As an Intermediate DevOps Engineer at Spring, you take ownership of infrastructure, automation, and internal tooling that enables faster, safer, and more reliable product delivery. You work closely with engineers, product managers, security, and platform teams to reduce friction in our development pipeline, improve observability, and maintain resilient cloud systems.

At this level, you’re expected to proactively identify gaps in reliability, speed, and automation, and then lead the design and implementation of improvements. You play a critical role in supporting Spring’s shift toward continuous delivery, service ownership, and modern security practices, helping product teams move quickly without compromising operational integrity. We treat AI as an operational teammate, not a replacement for engineering judgment: you’ll be encouraged to use it to remove toil so you can focus on design and decisions, while ensuring AI output is reviewed like any other change, sensitive data stays within approved boundaries, and automation that touches production is gated by humans and guardrails.

You’re expected to have a strong grasp of how Spring’s platform architecture supports key products (e.g., loan decisioning, Bloom) and core business functions like customer onboarding, compliance, and data warehousing. You’ll also work closely with Security, IT, and Sys Admin teams on access control, secure developer workflows, VPN and VPC configuration, patch management, and audit readiness. You may also participate in vendor integration or operational compliance initiatives.

What you’ll do:
  • Own and evolve infrastructure-as-code used for provisioning cloud services and environments.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and deployment workflows.
  • Implement observability tooling, automate failure detection, and reduce alert fatigue.
  • Collaborate with platform, product, and data teams to scale services and reduce latency or bottlenecks.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT and network teams on system hardening, identity and access management, and secure provisioning.
  • Contribute to DR plans, security incident response, and internal system reliability improvements.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate IaC, scripting, and runbook authoring, and help build AI-driven workflows such as incident triage, automated PR and IaC review, and ChatOps, owning the correctness, security, and cost of anything shipped.
  • Apply AIOps and LLM-based techniques to observability, such as alert correlation, incident summaries, and root‑cause analysis from logs and traces, to reduce alert fatigue.
What we’re looking for:
Requirements
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, and container technologies, like Docker.
  • Strong scripting or programming experience in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX systems, networking concepts, and security best practices (e.g., IAM, security groups).
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally, balance trade‑offs, and drive measurable improvements to system health and engineering velocity.
  • Practical experience using AI developer tools (e.g., coding assistants, LLM-based CLIs) to write, review, and debug infrastructure code and pipelines, with the discipline to verify their output.
  • Understanding of how to apply AI to operations safely, including prompt and context hygiene, keeping secrets and PII out of third‑party models, and validating AI-generated changes through existing review and security gates.
What we will give you:
  • A competitive annual salary ranging from $612,000-$857,000 MXN, based on experience and impact.
  • The flexibility to work fully remotely from anywhere in Mexico.
  • A collaborative engineering culture that supports learning, experimentation and professional growth.
  • Real ownership of the infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability that keep Spring's lending platform fast, secure and reliable.
  • Hands‑on work with modern cloud, IaC, and container tooling, plus the room to build AI-driven workflows like incident triage and automated IaC review.

Thank you for your interest! We appreciate your time and look forward to reviewing your application!
