Job summary

BYD Mexico is seeking a Cost Accounting Specialist to own vehicle cost closing activities and support spare-parts cost close, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end reporting.

You will review MIRO and related variances, match POs, invoices, and VINs, and maintain VIN-level cost bridges from accrual to payment. Collaboration with Procurement, Logistics, AP, Tax, and Warehouse is essential for timely resolution of open items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in cost accounting or GL month-end close.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO and MM, MIRO, accruals, GL reconciliation, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Own vehicle cost close and review spare-parts cost close, including MIRO, subsequent debits, cost accruals and reversals, GR/IR, and price variances.
• Match POs, invoices, goods receipts, customs documents (Pedimentos), and VINs to ensure accurate vehicle cost allocation.
• Maintain VIN-level cost bridges from accrual through reversal, invoice, and actual payment; identify duplicate payments, unreversed accruals, and unmatched items.
• Reconcile assigned cost-related GL accounts and review module schedules, including accounts 203001, 203010, 203016, 115001, and 131001.
• Review intercompany reconciliations and deliver monthly cost analysis, inventory valuation checks, and audit evidence.
• Maintain the month-end close checklist and open-item tracker, ensuring proper documentation and timely escalation of material exceptions.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Accounts Payable, Tax, and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies and close open items.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in cost accounting or GL month-end close.


• Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO and MM, particularly MIRO, goods-receipt matching, accruals, GL reconciliation, and month-end close.


• Practical knowledge of inventory costing, accrual reversals, intercompany reconciliations, and cost analysis.


• Advanced Excel skills for large transaction files, reconciliations, and VIN-level analysis.


• Fluent Spanish and professional working English, both written and spoken.
