ESAB in Hermosillo, Sonora seeks an experienced machinist to plan, set up, operate and inspect metalworking equipment, reading blueprints and process sheets to produce precision parts. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to tolerances in a fast-paced metalworking environment.

Candidates should have 5+ years of machine shop experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead as SME in the work area while developing new techniques with engineers.

Formación

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in machine shop.
• Extensive knowledge of specialized machine-shop functions.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, process sheets and sketches.
• Ability to identify and repair minor malfunctions.

Responsabilidades

• Plan assignments, layout, set up, operate and adjust tools for manual, NC and CNC equipment.
• Interpret blueprints and process sheets to produce precision parts.
• Communicate with engineers to understand part assemblies.
• Check machining operations against tolerances.
• Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
• Lead as team lead or SME in the work area.
• Determine methods for new assignments independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan assignments, layout, set up, operate and adjust tools for manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets and sketches to carry out production tasks, including cutting and shaping metal to precision dimensions.
• Communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of part assemblies.
• Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances.
• Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
• Contribute to development of concepts and techniques.
• Use judgement and initiative on complex assignments.
• Determine methods and procedures for new assignments independently.
• Serve as a team leader or subject‑matter expert in the assigned work area.
