Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Cloud Platform Technical Lead to own reliability and orchestration of an enterprise data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will lead AWS/EKS, Argo Workflows, Snowflake, S3, and data pipelines, driving platform reliability and cross-team collaboration.

This senior role requires 6+ years of cloud engineering and SRE experience, strong Python/automation skills, and excellent stakeholder communication in English. LatAm active hours alignment is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Deep hands-on AWS production environments: architecture, security, networking, access, monitoring, capacity, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS, including workload deployment, troubleshooting, observability, scaling, upgrades, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with Argo Workflows or similar orchestration for production data workloads.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform, plus CI/CD, release automation, and rollback practices.
• Experience designing observability, logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident routing for distributed platforms.
• Proven ability to lead incidents and cross-functional troubleshooting across infrastructure, apps, pipelines, and analytics.
• Experience with service levels, runbooks, change controls, releases, and on-call duties.
• Knowledge of data platforms: Snowflake, S3 data lakes, SQL, dbt, and ingestion tools like Fivetran or HVR; data quality and lineage understanding.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell, or Bash for automation and tooling.
• Ability to estimate work, communicate tradeoffs, and guide teams through change; mentoring engineers and improving processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and end-to-end reliability of the managed Data Platform across AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, Argo, Snowflake, S3, Fivetran, and Tableau.
• Lead the transition to managed services, including discovery, risk mapping, knowledge transfer, and readiness validation.
• Define cloud architecture principles, IaC standards, CI/CD, observability patterns, and platform engineering priorities.
• Provide leadership for AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes/EKS operations, Argo workflows, deployment automation, and access management.
• Translate business and security needs into actionable technical requirements and backlogs.
• Guide cross‑platform decisions on Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, S3 lake operations, data quality, and analytics dependencies.
• Lead complex cross‑platform troubleshooting and L3 escalation across infra, ingestion, orchestration, Snowflake, and Tableau.
• Respond technically during major incidents with impact assessment, recovery strategy, RCAs, and preventive actions.
• Ensure changes/releases include review, dependency analysis, rollback planning, and traceability.
• Define and monitor reliability indicators: availability, ingestion, freshness, deployment outcomes, and incident patterns.
• Advance automation, observability, auto-remediation, platform resilience, deployment safety, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Security, Governance, Analytics, IT, and platform stakeholders on least-privilege access and auditability.
• Review designs, document tradeoffs, and ensure scalable, secure, and supportable solutions within managed services.
• Mentor senior/mid engineers, delegate ownership, and build a strong distributed team capability.
• Maintain alignment between LatAm and India coverage windows with clear ownership and structured handoffs.
• Participate in senior escalation and on-call model for incidents outside staffed hours.
