Job summary

BlackLine Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to help build scalable cloud-based backend services and APIs. You will design, develop, test, and optimize features, while maintaining code quality and collaborating across teams in an agile environment.

You will work with Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, and major cloud platforms to deliver reliable products and drive continuous improvement through code reviews and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages and RESTful API design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize software applications.
• Deliver high-quality backend services and scalable features for customers.
• Collaborate across teams to define requirements, specs, and test plans.
• Maintain and improve code quality with reviews, tests, and refactoring.
• Research new tools and technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and post-release maintenance.
