CEMEX is seeking a senior Digital Transformation lead for Cement Operations in Monterrey. You will guide cross-functional teams through the design, deployment, and scaling of Smart Operations to boost productivity, sustainability, and maintenance effectiveness.

Responsibilities include opportunity identification, business case development, change management, and sustaining value realization across global and regional programs.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• MBA or Master’s in Operations, Digital Transformation, Analytics or Business Administration preferred.
• 5+ years of cement operations, manufacturing excellence, or industrial analytics experience.

Drive the identification, design, implementation, adoption, and scaling of Smart Operations solutions that improve operational performance, process stability, productivity, sustainability, maintenance effectiveness, and business value realization.

Lead and manage cross-functional, regional, and global digital transformation initiatives within Cement Operations. Drive the identification, design, implementation, adoption, and scaling of Smart Operations solutions that improve operational performance, process stability, productivity, sustainability, maintenance effectiveness, and business value realization. Execute consulting services throughout all project phases, including opportunity identification, business case development, solution design, enablement and deployment, change management, adoption monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead Smart Operations initiatives across Cement Operations, supporting process optimization, maintenance excellence, and digital transformation programs.
• Identify and prioritize high-value operational improvement opportunities through data analytics, AI, advanced process control, IoT, and digital technologies.
• Develop business cases and value realization frameworks to support digital investments and transformation initiatives.
• Lead enablement and scaling of Smart Operations solutions including:
• Production Optimization
• Quality Optimization
• Asset Performance Management
• Partner with plant operations, maintenance, quality, process engineers, and regional leadership to define transformation roadmaps and implementation strategies.
• Support the development of data-driven operating models leveraging industrial data platforms, advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Drive adoption and sustainment plans to ensure business value realization and operational integration.
• Facilitate workshops, process assessments, and operational diagnostics to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement and process reengineering initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Design Thinking, and Human-Centered Design methodologies.
• Develop executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate project progress, risks, benefits, and strategic recommendations.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, technology partners, and consulting firms to ensure successful program execution.
• Mentor and coach operations teams on digital capabilities, change management, and processes best practices.
• Establish governance frameworks, performance indicators, and adoption metrics for digital programs.

• Ensure sustainability of benefits after deployment and transition to business ownership.
• Manage complex cross-functional initiatives involving operations, P&IT, and external partners.
• Support enterprise-wide standardization of Smart Operations capabilities while maintaining local flexibility.

Qualifications

• English 100%
• Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Operations, Digital Transformation, Analytics, or Business Administration preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Cement Operations, Manufacturing Excellence, Process Engineering, Digital Transformation, Smart Manufacturing, Operations Consulting, or Industrial Analytics.
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional transformation initiatives.
• Experience deploying AI, advanced analytics, process optimization, or industrial digital solutions.
• Experience delivering business value through operational improvement programs.

Technical Expertise

Proven experience deploying and scaling AI‑enabled and digital solutions across manufacturing environments, leveraging IT/OT capabilities, industrial IoT platforms, advanced analytics, maintenance excellence methodologies, and operational transformation frameworks to improve throughput, process stability, asset reliability, quality performance, sustainability metrics, and business value realization.

Knowledge of one or more: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, AVEVA, SAP, Databricks, Digital Twin Technologies, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
