Medtronic in Tijuana, Mexico is seeking an onsite Technical Specialist to perform calibrations and maintenance on a range of measuring and testing equipment. You will set up tests, run performance checks, and document results to support lab and manufacturing activities.

The role emphasizes meticulous calibration procedures, equipment troubleshooting, and coordination with external contractors as needed. Fluency in English is a plus for project communication.

Formación

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs precise calibrations and preventive and corrective maintenance on measuring and test equipment, systems, instruments, tools, gauges and fixtures and the calibration and validation of test and data analysis equipment

  • and systems used for clinical research, trials and product testing.

  • Sets up test equipment and conducts tests on performance and reliability of mechanical, structural or electromechanical equipment.

  • Maintains, tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, and repairs a variety of circuits, components, analytical equipment and instrumentation for laboratory and manufacturing equipment.

  • Develops calibration operating procedures, logs, protocols and/or documentation for instruments and may prepare technical reports with recommendations for solutions to technical problems.

  • Selects, specifies, maintain and/or procures instrument spare parts and purchase of components to minimize machine downtime.

  • Analyzes results and may develop test specifications and electrical schematics.

  • Coordinates calibration with outside contractors for equipment that cannot be maintained internally.

Nice to have:
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) – project follow-up and communication are conducted entirely in English.

  • Knowledge of metrology and equipment calibration.

  • Experience in equipment maintenance and repair.

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM:

Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or advanced degree 0 years prior relevant experience.
