Job Description

If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join our Global Service Center HSBC. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Manager - Chief Operating Office Centre of Excellence.

The role supports the creation of the Global Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE), a central capability overseeing the execution and delivery of key business management accountabilities including robust financial and headcount management for Global Finance. It leverages tools, technology and processes to provide a consistent, centralized view, driving collaboration and adopting best practices to help the finance function operate cost efficiently. The CoE aims to create capacity within the teams to focus on finance transformation and the people agenda. The Business Manager provides dedicated, forward-thinking operational and business management support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement revised Target Operating Model (TOM) for Chief Operating Office (COO) CoE to ensure a consistent support approach for Finance COOs across workforce management and cost management, providing analysis and insights to drive efficiencies.
  • Provide strong team leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Identify common tasks/activities that can be aligned, standardized, streamlined and automated using existing technology to implement best practices and maintain high operational standards.
  • Establish and drive a consistent and effective approach to business management across the Finance COO team.
  • Deliver against multiple outcomes and prioritize resources and demand across global Finance.
  • Provide regular updates to Finance COOs and build strong relationships to ensure effective ways of working.
  • Collaborate with wider Finance, Innovation and IT teams.
  • Develop a strong culture of process documentation and controls within the CoE.
  • Drive positive change in processes, procedures, and services to deliver on financial, people or efficiency goals.
  • Develop robust financial and headcount management including FRP, forecast and consultancy approvals and tracking across sub-functions and regions.
  • Support the full end-to-end Global Finance headcount and financial planning and forecasting process to provide an accurate view of sub-functions and regions’ ability to meet targets.
  • Ensure support for production and monitoring of headcount plans, forecasts and actuals that deliver the FRP, including analysis of submissions for sub-functions and regions.
  • Implement robust headcount and financial analysis, planning and reporting processes.
  • Support ongoing review and challenge of headcount plans and management across sub-functions and regions.
  • Headcount approval management including system governance at sub-function/regional levels.
  • Prepare ad hoc requests for templates/data on costs / FTE for Finance.
  • Support a consistent and effective approach to business management across the Finance COO team.
  • Collaborate with Global Finance Function Chief Financial Officer team to ensure one golden source of data and one version of the truth in a centralized model.
  • Develop revised process documentation to embed processes into the Finance team.
