HSBC Global Service Center in Mexico City seeks an experienced Business Manager - Finance to support monthly forecasting, reporting, and governance across the Americas. You will coordinate MI outputs, lead Workforce Plan interlock, and assist in regulatory approvals and cost management, while partnering with Finance, HR, and Change teams.

The role emphasizes strong Excel skills, clear communications, and the ability to produce concise leadership materials for senior management.

Business Manager - Finance
Role purpose

The primary objective of the Business Manager, Finance is to support the Senior Business Manager, Finance in delivering disciplined financial management and governance across the Americas. The role focuses on supporting: (1) LAM monthly forecasting and actuals reporting, (2) workforce planning and FRC support, (3) Americas SRO/ATO responsibilities, (4) FRP/PI Planning and (5) Americas indirect cost management—ensuring accurate MI, clear decision support, and effective control routines.

Main activities
  • 1. Mexico Monthly forecasting & actuals reporting and FRP support:
    • Run day-to-day coordination of the monthly actuals and forecast rhythm (timelines, input requests, consolidation checkpoints) under direction of the senior manager.
    • Collect inputs from Finance/business stakeholders; perform first-pass validation of assumptions, run-rate logic, phasing and completeness; highlight anomalies for challenge/escalation.
    • Prepare draft MI outputs (variance bridges, trend analysis, commentary starters, trackers) to enable decision-ready packs and dashboards.
    • Maintain documentation for the cycle: version control, action logs, decision points, and audit trail evidence.
    • Produce ad hoc analysis (e.g., variance root-cause cut, run-rate vs plan comparisons) to support leadership questions.
  • 2. Workforce Plan interlock & FRC support:
    • Track headcount movements and approval workflow progression; chase actions and resolve data gaps with HR/Finance stakeholders.
    • Maintain a clear tracker of requests (status, owner, decision date, dependencies) and ensure timely progression through governance steps (including FRC submission support where applicable).
    • Update/validate workforce data reflected in planning tools (e.g., Anaplan or equivalent) and reconcile to forecast/actuals views.
    • Draft supporting materials for approvals (request summaries, budget/forecast impact, alignment to plan) and maintain an audit trail of submissions/decisions.
  • 3. Americas SRO/ATO support:
    • Support the Americas SRO/ATO lead (GCB4) by maintaining evidence packs, documentation repositories, and routine reporting.
    • Track risks, issues, dependencies and remediation actions; maintain RAID/action logs and prepare concise status updates for stakeholders.
    • Coordinate meeting logistics and outputs (agendas, minutes, action capture, follow-ups) and elevate blockers promptly with options.
  • 4. Americas CTB Portfolio Management support: Maintain CTB demand trackers and support periodic reporting into local and group instances. Assist in preparing materials for US & MX governance forums (packs, dashboards, summaries, decisions required) and action tracking.
  • 5. Americas indirect cost management lead: Support the Americas indirect cost management cadence, partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to monitor spend, forecast outcomes, and identify variances.
  • 6. Mexico Regulatory approvals SME for Finance: Act as the focal point of the function and drive E2E regulatory approval process, from identification and review of Data Visa, governance instances and integration of regulatory packs when required.
  • 7. Integration of Mexico Regulatory issues: Act as the focal point of the function to report relevant regulatory issues that feed regulatory committees.
  • 8. Finance MX GCN Service Monitoring Design: Oversee and report adherence of Finance MX GCN delivery services to migration policies, including validation of SOPs, go live / BAU declarations and service delivery reporting.
  • 9. Stakeholder influence: Build effective working relationships with Finance, HR, Change/CTB and supplier/contract stakeholders; ensure clear ownership and timely follow-through.
  • 10. Collaboration: Contribute as a core member of the Americas Finance COO team, strengthening connectivity across Finance and partner functions, enabling effective cross-team delivery, and promoting consistent ways of working.
  • Operate transfer pricing controls for intercompany recharges.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Qualifications and Skills required:

You’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

Essential
  • Experience supporting monthly MI/reporting cycles (actuals/forecast), producing leadership-ready analysis and pack components.
  • Strong Excel capability (reconciliations, pivots, structured analysis); comfortable producing clear PowerPoint materials.
  • Experience working with Change the bank processes and artefacts
  • Solid understanding of HSBC Mexico regulatory approval process. Strong organization skills: timeline management, action tracking, dependency management and follow-through.
  • Clear written communication (status updates, minutes, concise summaries) and comfort working with senior stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Exposure to workforce/headcount governance processes and approval workflows (including preparation of supporting documentation).
  • Experience working within control/governance frameworks (evidence packs, documentation standards, audit trail discipline).
  • Knowledge of indirect cost management and cost action tracking.
  • Understanding of control environment and control framework operation (Control definition and monitoring assessments, issues, actions, etc.)
  • Experience in third-party/service governance concepts (service recipient, contract owner, supplier routines).
  • Financial services experience and comfort operate in a regulated, risk-and-control conscious environment.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Operations, or related discipline.
