Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Buyer for the Juarez facility to handle procurement of raw materials and support manufacturing operations. The role focuses on timely, cost-effective purchasing aligned with customer dates and inventory targets.

Responsibilities include PO management, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional coordination with planning, engineering, and production. English/Spanish bilingualism and SAP experience are required, with a strong emphasis on supplier collaboration and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration / Industrial Engineer or related field.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems.
• SAP experience.
• Strong background in developing, bidding and negotiating contracts is highly desirable.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimum direction or supervision.
• Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Convert requisitions to PO in line with requirements.
• Change and maintain purchase orders as required according to established material policies and procedures.
• Maintain system parameters updated at all times.
• Coordinate effective exchange of information between purchasing, planning and production departments.
• Attend daily production meetings.
• Negotiate prices, schedule changes, and supplier deviations; coordinate material changes for approval.
• Maintain contact with suppliers regarding changes affecting production.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage DOH metrics; execute standard work as a buyer.
• Negotiate supply agreements; negotiate consignment and Kanban setups when needed.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, QA, and service departments to meet program requirements.
• Assist in training junior buyers as directed by Purchasing Supervisor.
• Ensure purchases/services comply with Environmental Standards.
• Provide professional direction to other buyers under supervision.
• ResearchPurchasing data and develop plans/procedures to meet division objectives.
• Maintain invoices on hold.
• Comply with corporate/divisional guidelines and ethical standards.
• Negotiate resolution of claims with suppliers for non-conforming material.
